The Real Challenge

Real Hustle Often Gets Lost in Official Bank Language

01

Unclear Monthly Numbers

Daily cash sales and mixed expenses make it hard to explain profit margins or show clear repayment capacity.

02

Generic Template Traps

Downloaded online templates use foreign concepts that do not reflect actual Guyanese operating costs or local customers.

03

Compliance Uncertainty

Entrepreneurs in Guyana and diaspora investors often hesitate because they are unsure what GRA, NIS, or business registration requires.

Timing & Context

Why Preparing Early Protects Your Opportunity

Official launch information confirms zero-interest, no-collateral financing up to GY$3M for SMEs, alongside earlier public announcements of possible commercial-bank co-financing.

When financing is available, last-minute preparation can still create problems with missing quotations, scattered receipts, and unclear figures. A collateral-free initiative may still require an applicant to demonstrate business viability, operational capability, and ability to repay.

Official GDB Status & Announced Terms: The Guyana Development Bank Act came into operation and GDB became operational on October 5, 2026. According to official October 5 Government/DPI launch information, the bank offers zero-interest, no-collateral financing up to GY$3 million for SMEs. Under these announced terms, Quick Loans are below GY$300,000 and SME loans are GY$300,000 to GY$3 million, with higher SME amounts requiring more supporting information, business proposals and plans, based on launch reporting. Earlier public announcements also mentioned possible commercial-bank co-financing of up to GY$7 million only as a previously reported possible arrangement, with terms requiring lender confirmation and not guaranteed.

Geographic Access Notice & Diaspora Clarification: According to the current official portal notice at restricted.gdb.gov.gy, GDB's service is available only to Guyana residents, with the notice explaining this supports residents and businesses in Guyana and allows in-person identity verification if required. This portal notice is not a complete legal eligibility checklist. This restriction applies to GDB's own portal and service—not GrowBiz's independent plan-preparation intake, which welcomes inquiries from Guyanese abroad planning a Guyanese business. Diaspora applicants are advised to confirm directly with GDB whether they can apply.

Official GDB Process vs. GrowBiz Advisory: The official release identifies gdb.gov.gy as the online application and loan-management platform, where an applicant may request an appointment for face-to-face assistance with a bank officer. A complete current list of help-desk locations has not been verified here. Approved loans are disbursed to the borrower's bank account and repayments are made through the banking/financial system. This is the official GDB process, separate from GrowBiz's independent intake; GrowBiz is unaffiliated, does not submit applications, and does not guarantee eligibility, approval, or funding.

The October 5 release did not publish a complete eligibility checklist, specific documents, review timetable, fees, or full underwriting rules. Current official guidance should be checked through official GDB channels. Information last reviewed: October 7, 2026.

The Process

How We Convert Your Experience

 Into a Structured Plan

Step 1

Submit Your Information

Complete the short GrowBiz intake form and provide honest details about your business or idea, customers, operations, intended use of funds, and any figures you have.

Step 2

GrowBiz Organizes and Researches the Plan

GrowBiz turns your answers into a clear narrative plan. Tier 2 and Tier 3 include basic market and competitor research. Financial figures remain client-supplied; GrowBiz organizes them and flags gaps or unclear assumptions instead of inventing numbers.

Step 3

Review and Refine the Final Document

Review the draft, clarify open points, use your included review and revision support, and receive a final plan you can understand and discuss. Timelines begin after complete required information is received.

All projections are grounded in client-supplied data and do not represent audited accounting forecasts.

Rooted in Practical Experience

Built by Someone Who Has Operated Businesses in Guyana & The US.

GrowBiz Consultancy is led by a former President of the Linden Chamber of Commerce who has personally founded, managed, and grown multiple commercial enterprises in Guyana and the US.

During that tenure, he was instrumental in bringing the EU-funded Linden Economic Advancement Program (LEAP) to Region 10 — a program built specifically to strengthen local small businesses. That's the same lens GrowBiz brings to your loan application: not theory, but a working knowledge of what actually helps a Guyanese business get funded and grow.

This local grounding means your plan avoids impractical academic frameworks and instead focuses on the real-world operational challenges, supplier relationships, and compliance steps Guyanese business owners face every day.

Why Entrepreneurs Choose GrowBiz

The primary value is a clear, coherent plan you genuinely understand and can discuss with confidence—supported by personal guidance and transparent working terms.

Other Alternatives

  • • Free templates & DIY work: Often rigid, time-consuming to adapt, and leave significant gaps in operational logic.
  • • Generic AI output: Generates plausible-sounding text but lacks practical Guyanese business context, real supply realities, and verifiable numbers.
  • • Doing nothing: Leaves assumptions untested and keeps figures unorganized when financing conversations arise.

The GrowBiz Approach

  • ✓ Personal guidance & local experience: Practical collaboration informed by hands-on commercial operations in Guyana.
  • ✓ Local organization & basic research: Structured narratives aligned with local operational steps, plus identification of missing data.
  • ✓ Understanding your numbers: Direct help reviewing client-supplied revenue and cost estimates so you can explain your own logic.
  • ✓ Clear project boundaries: Well-defined scope, mutual responsibilities, stated research depth, clear revision rounds, and honest turnaround times.

Clear Answers

Questions Guyanese Entrepreneurs

Ask Before Starting

Straightforward details on what GrowBiz provides, how preparation works, and how your business information is handled.

Is GrowBiz affiliated with the Guyana Development Bank?

No. GrowBiz Consultancy is an independent private consultancy and does not represent, partner with, or act as an agent for the Guyana Development Bank.

Can GrowBiz guarantee a GDB loan or funding approval?

No. GrowBiz prepares and strengthens your business-plan presentation. The Guyana Development Bank alone decides eligibility, approvals, loan availability, funding amounts, and terms.

What is the official GDB application platform?

The official release identifies gdb.gov.gy as the Guyana Development Bank's online application and loan-management platform. The bank's application process is completely separate from the GrowBiz intake form, which is solely for business plan preparation and is not a bank application. GrowBiz does not submit loan applications on your behalf.

What does the GDB portal notice say about residency?

The current GDB portal notice at restricted.gdb.gov.gy says the service is available only to Guyana residents to serve residents and businesses and to enable in-person identity verification if needed. This is a portal notice, not a complete legal eligibility rule, and applies to GDB's service. GrowBiz's independent plan-preparation service accepts inquiries from Guyanese abroad planning a Guyanese business; diaspora applicants should confirm application eligibility directly with GDB at gdb.gov.gy.

What loan categories and amounts were announced?

Official launch announcements outlined zero-interest, no-collateral loans up to GY$3 million for SMEs. Based on launch reporting, this includes Quick Loans below GY$300,000 using simplified documentation, while SME loans from GY$300,000 through GY$3 million require more supporting information, business proposals, and plans. These details reflect official launch announcements, not a guarantee of individual eligibility or approval.

What requirements and timing are confirmed?

The October 5 operational release did not confirm a complete current checklist, specific required documents, an application review timetable, fees, or full underwriting rules, and complete help-desk locations are not verified here. Applicants should always verify current official requirements and procedures directly with the GDB at gdb.gov.gy.

Is additional co-financing available?

Earlier public announcements referred to possible commercial-bank co-financing up to GY$7 million at preferential rates, but this remains an earlier reported possibility subject to lender-specific confirmation. The October 5 operational release notes that approved loans will be disbursed directly to the borrower's bank account, repayments will occur through the banking and financial system, and applicants may request an appointment with a bank officer through the platform at gdb.gov.gy.

Who can use this business plan preparation service?

Guyanese entrepreneurs living in Guyana with a new idea, an informal operation, or a registered business, as well as Guyanese abroad planning to invest in or launch a Guyanese enterprise.

Is an already-registered business required to start?

No. You do not need to be registered to begin drafting. Formal registration and NIS or GRA compliance may be required by lenders later, and GrowBiz identifies these gaps without submitting filings.

What information do I need to supply?

You supply honest details about your product or service, target customers, day-to-day operations, proposed use of funds, and your real estimates for sales, costs, and pricing.

Will GrowBiz invent or guarantee financial numbers?

No. We never invent figures. You provide your actual numbers and estimates; GrowBiz organizes them into a clear narrative plan and flags any gaps or unclear calculations for your review.

What do the Guided Business Plan and GDB Application-Ready Plan include?

Both include a customized narrative plan, client-supplied figures organized into the financial section, basic market research, and basic competitor research. The Guided Business Plan includes one revision round and targets five-business-day delivery after complete information is received. The GDB Application-Ready Plan adds deeper consultation, a readiness checklist, two review calls, and up to two revision rounds, with target delivery in ten business days after complete information is received.

How long does the preparation take?

Plan Starter materials are emailed within 24 hours (review call within one week). Guided takes five business days, and GDB Application-Ready Plan takes ten business days after receiving complete client information.

What happens after I submit the intake form?

GrowBiz reviews your submission and emails your tailored preparation questionnaire and next steps. The form is purely an intake request and does not constitute a bank loan application.

What if official GDB requirements change?

GrowBiz will update preparation guidance as official lending policies become public, and we promptly notify active clients if requirements or document scope shift.
